Chalford is often likened to an Alpine village due to the houses that cling to the side of the valley and the criss cross footpaths that connect them. Riverdale lies at the bottom of the Chalford Valley with easy access to roads and paths. The area is ideal for walkers, cyclists or people interested in wildlife. We have regular visits from herons, kingfishers and badgers and the river has plenty of trout. There is a disused canal and plenty of footpaths and wooded walks to explore. The New Red Lion pub is two minutes' walk away. They serve great Sunday lunches and evening meals. Chalford Community Store and Post Office provides organic groceries, award-winning fresh bread, local crafts and a veg. box to order. They also have a small cafe for tea and cakes. We are a short walk from the local bus route between Stroud and Cirencester as well as the National Express bus to London. |
